SWANSEA TEACHER SUCCEEDS IN UNFAIR DISMISSAL CLAIM
A Swansea mathematics teacher has won his case for unfair dismissal against after the Cardiff Employment Tribunal found that he had been wrongfully dismissed from his job. Mr A, aged 53, was a senior teacher who had given 31 years loyal and blameless service before he was dismissed for allegedly kicking and punching his daughter during an altercation in December 2005 and abusing her over the years.
Mr A always denied the allegations and came to Brian Barr Solicitors after his Union refused to assist him with an Employment Tribunal Claim.
The hearing lasted for 5 days following which the Tribunal reserved its judgment. Judgment was sent out to the Parties on 2nd October. The Tribunal found that Mr A had been unfairly dismissed and that there was absolutely no evidence that Mr A was guilty of the allegations. The matter will now be listed for a separate hearing to deal with the issue of compensation.
Lyndsey Ryan, Solicitor acting for Mr A, said he was absolutely delighted with the judgment and looking forward to putting the case behind him and getting on with family life.
