Conference taking place for sufferers of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and ME
Patients living with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and ME and previously referred to the Somerset CFS/ME Service are being invited to attend an NHS conference in Yeovil. This annual event, taking place on September 17th, brings together patients as well as their carers.
As many as one in 250 people are affected by the condition and it can leave sufferers severely debilitated for months and even years.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Sir Peter Spencer, chief executive of the charity Action for ME, a leading charity dedicated to improving the lives of people with ME.
Sir Peter will be giving a presentation entitled “Transforming the world of ME” and sharing his views on the latest medical research and understanding of the condition.
A few places are still available for this year’s conference which takes place on Friday, September 17, between 2pm and 4.30pm at Ivel Barbarians Rugby Club on Dorchester Road, Yeovil.
Places at the conference are limited and by invitation only.
If there are any patients or carers who have previously been referred to the Somerset CFS/ME Service and would like to attend this year’s conference they should contact Di Collins on 01749-836703 or e-mail CFSME@somerset.nhs.uk .
